The Artist’s Casita

Phoenix, Arizona — Custom Home Design + Full Furnish — New Build

Tucked behind a 1920s Spanish Colonial, The Artist’s Casita was designed as an extension of home for a family of fifth-generation artists. The space reflects that sense of creativity through tone, texture, and subtle moments of playfulness. What began as a 100 sq ft shed was transformed into a 350 sq ft ADU, small in size but thoughtfully designed. The interiors draw from the main home’s character, with arched openings, plaster walls, and natural light setting the tone, layered with a soft, earthy palette and moments of contrast in color and form. Materials like aged brass, natural stone, and hand-finished surfaces were chosen to age well, while custom millwork and built-ins make the space feel intentional and efficient. Steel-framed doors and windows bring in light and connect the home to its surroundings, creating a simple, grounded space that feels personal, creative, and lived-in from the start.
